Triad-Express is the PREMIER trackless train rental company in North/South Carolina and Virginia. We have the most and best selection of trains for rent.

Coming in 2024 we are adding an additional train including an A.D.A. compliant caboose. It will have a wheelchair ramp and seating for additional riders. Be among the first to rent this amazing train and A.D.A. caboose. This will allow us to offer train rides to disabled kids in chairs. Triad-Express is the first and only train rental company to offer this option in our area.

We have been working on this for over three years. Finally, it will be available! This special train and caboose will be rented for the same price as our other trains. NO ADDITIONAL UP-CHARGE! Triad-Express is extremely excited to offer this train to our customers.

All Aboard!

Because our train engines are all electric they do not sound like a lawn mower. This also means no exposure to gas, exhaust or other dangerous fumes from locomotive to you or your children. True green renewable energy technology.

At Triad-Express our customers safety, needs and requirements are our #1 priority. No issue or concern related to your event is too small. We want your event to be as near perfect as possible. Information About Us

Triad-Express is the only trackless train company owned and operated by a former Southern Railway engineer/conductor. This helps to provide a more realistic railroad experience.

Opened summer of 2021 with all new locomotive, passenger cars and equipment. Be among the first to book your event and enjoy the thrill of a train ride. Ask about how to reserve your annual date for future years. We now have added a Wattman train for your enjoyment. It consists of an electric locomotive, a coal car, two coach cars and a caboose car with childproof door locks. This is the type of train you see in most shopping malls.

Make tracks to Triad-Express for train rides! Our trackless train rides are perfect for everyone from young children to young-at-heart adults. We'll include an experienced former Southern Railway engineer/ conductor to operate the train and assist with safety for all the passengers. All you need to do is relax and enjoy the ride. Our trains do not need a track and work great indoors and outdoors at events in parks, schools, malls, etc. Our original train is powered by an electric locomotive that pulls three coach cars. Seat belts are in each car and can accommodate up to 18 kids or 12 adults.

A PA system for announcements, music sound system and LED lighting is installed in each car. These accessories make the Triad-Express even more exciting during night time events. Authentic train horn, whistle, bell, and train engine sounds all add to the experience.

The Triad-Express was custom built for us in 2020, including special enclosed trailer for transport. First class operation in all ways. For a well maintained and clean train ride, think Triad-Express. ALL ABOARD!

Our Triad-Express trackless trains require a smooth surface such as asphalt or concrete. The surface must be firm, level and dry. We will not travel on muddy surfaces or wet grass. The train must be operated on private roads. Public roads can only be used if they are blocked off to other vehicles. Under no circumstances can the train operate on public roads with other vehicle traffic. The trains must be operated on level surface with no hills or speed bumps unless prior written approval by Triad-Express. Failure to provide the above can result in the loss of your deposit.

Church events can be used inside gyms and multi-purpose buildings due to electric power. No exhaust fumes. Please note if your event is indoors, our train requires a 48” wide ground level doorway and an 20’ turning radius. Planning an indoor event takes out the worry of weather. (i.e.: rain, cold, heat, ice, etc.) Evening and night events options are available for indoor events.

***Please note that the cost starts at $495 for the first hour and $175 for each additional hour including operator in engineer costume. Charge for delivery and setup fee will be determined by location. ***

We are fully insured and if your event requires additional or co-insured - this is available at added cost.

Train Station

(Train station is great for crowd control. It also provides a location for starting and stopping train rides. In addition, it allows current riders to unload prior to letting new riders on board. Train Station is a requirement for large events.)

Halloween Package (Oct)

(This includes Halloween theme music, decorations and lights in each car and locomotive.)

Polar Package (Nov & Dec)

(This includes Christmas decorations, lights and holiday theme music in each coach car and locomotive.)

A 50% deposit is due at time of booking to reserve date. Deposit must be received in 72 hours. We can only hold your date for 72 hours due to high demand. 24-hour notice must be given before canceling event. A 25% fee will apply to all cancelled parties or events. If you want to avoid 25% cancellation fee, the booking amount will be transferable for another event for up to one calendar year. Balance due and payable in cash upon arrival unless prior arrangement. A late fee of $50 will be charged if remaining contract balance is not received upon arrival.

In case of inclimate weather you must reschedule or cancel a minimum of 24 hours prior to your event in order to prevent loss of deposit. Due to insurance restrictions, we cannot operate in the rain or on wet grass.

Rules

All patrons must meet the posted height requirements
Minimum height for children riding without an adult is 37”
Recommended weight per coach is 800 pounds
No food, drink or smoking
Intoxicated patrons will be denied admittance
No running or horse play
Remain seated at all times
All riders are required to use seat belts
Keep hands and feet inside of car while ride is in motion

Single riders will be placed together
No more than 3 children or 2 adults per seat
Any rider behaving in a rowdy or dangerous manner will be removed from the ride
Not responsible for lost or stolen items
Some clothing or accessories may not be appropriate for the ride (example: chains on wallets, large key chains, etc.)
All riders are required to follow any additional verbal instructions by Triad-Express
Triad-Express reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who fails to follow verbal instructions/rules of our trackless train rides.
